Renewal Requirements

The Florida Board of Nursing:

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) are renewed by the department in three groups:


Group 1 – current license will expire at midnight, Eastern Standard Time, April 30, 2026

Group 2 – current license will expire at midnight, Eastern Standard Time, July 31, 2024

Group 3 – current license will expire at midnight, Eastern Standard Time, April 30, 2025

The Florida Board of Nursing will renew your license upon receipt of:

  1. Completed CE requirements – reported into CE Broker
  2. Complete renewal application
  3. Required fees (NP who wish to renew their RN license must renew and pay for both)
  4. Update your current primary place of practice address
  5. Login to verify your practitioner profile
  6. Complete the financial responsibility form
  7. Licensees who were required to be nationally certified, at the time of original licensure, must submit a copy of their current national certification

The Renewal Process

The Florida Board of Nursing:

"Renewal Instructions:

  1. Go to www.flhealthsource.gov and click the “Renew A License” button.
  2. Enter your Personal Identifying Information (PII), then click the Login button.
  3. Confirm or update your MQA Services Account email address, then click the “Continue” button.
  4. You are now in the Dashboard. During renewals, a “Renew My License” option will populate no later than 90 days prior to your license expiration date. (Note: If you do not see the “Renew My License” option, please check back at a later time.)"

What continuing education will you need?

You will need between 5 and 30 hours of continuing education for license renewal.
